Croquette and lawn bowling. Bloody marys and mimosas. Wear your whites.
It’s Clair and Daves wedding weekend in Pinehurst.
Four years ago, I was just a guy who had a crush on a girl who had a boyfriend....

Your renegade Alaskan bird spirit.
– Jon Stewart on Sarah Palin. Oh my gosh I love him SO much it is not even funny.
Julie! I am thinking next time we camp, we talk the boys into something more like this:
That way if it down pours again, we don’t have to deal with flooding issues. Xoxo!!
Barstok.. a Camping Adventure
This last weekend Mo and I went camping. Swear. With tents and everything. And I have the photos to prove it.
Our good friends Julie and Jason invited us to Barstok, a weekend of live bands, camping, a pig pickin (don’t say the “g” I learned that very quickly), and most importantly, a weekend of family and friends gathered to remember and celebrate the life of someone very...
Sunday Texts with Friends
AR: Death. Dying.
KJ: I am in the same boat. I can't even get myself together enough to curl up in the fetal position.
AR: I might go fetal on the cheetah carpet and pray no one comes in.
KJ: Good call. Push the tanks off the cushion and lock the doors.
AR: Got kicked out of a fraternity last night.
KJ: Stop yourself. How did that happen?
AR: Weeeeeeelll the Ackland Museum is right across the street from fraternity row. So Jen and I decided we were celebs and we would totally bring the party from a 7 to a 10.
AR: Yea, the 12 year old kid at the door didn't understand what we were trying to accomplish.
KJ: Well that is clearly his fault and the fraternities loss.
KJ: Ugh. I just looked in our fridge and all we have is beer and skinnygirl margs.
AR: I love that!
KJ: Mo has chosen to accept our fate and is having a beer. I'm crawling around trying to figure out how to live.
AR: One of the many reasons y'all are two of my favorite humans.
Ways in which Mo steals my thunder
1. My 29th birthday was shared with his med school graduation. I turned 29. He finished med school and got a party.
2. My 30th birthday was shared with his residency graduation festivities. Mo won Intern of the Year, I turned 30 and got a sinus infection.
3. Today marked the close of one of the biggest grants I work with. Our production was up 92% from last year, we posted record numbers. Mo...
Joey from The Rachel Zoe Project is making my ears bleed.
I want Brad back.
It is times like these.. when I am still working at night (not joking) that I don’t feel as bad about having a long lunch to watch The Rachel Zoe Project or having a glass of wine at 4pm.
It is also times like these that I go a little delirious and realize why people should not be allowed to send out emails past 5pm. Just for fairness to everyone.
The good news just keeps coming!!! Yayayayay and best news from one of my favorites!!
So so happy for you L-Train!!
UCLA Game did not work to my (our) advantage. Off to tailgate the NC State Game (go Pack!!) because, well, why the hell not. Good friends and a margarita machine in the back of their suburban spells a good time.
Sidenote: it is freezing out and I am in a sweatshirt and puffy vest. There will be no photos. For everyones safety.
#Personal
Feel free to ignore this post because it may come across as mushy. But I always wanted this space to be a true document of what Mo and I were up to (and also mainly where we were eating).
BUT. Sometimes you are just really, really, really proud of your husband!!!
So you have to document and say you rock babe!! Best review ever!! So so awesome!!
Currently wondering if it is a good thing or a bad thing that we get coverage of the UCLA game.
I will update with an answer in about 3 hours. In the mean time, cross your fingers for me. And for all other females whose Saturday depends on whether their significant others football team wins.
Stop me when I have three. This is one.

Manhattans, martinis*, and Mad Men.
*Martinis are actually wine, but I was going for alliteration.
Oh Raleigh. You have quite a sense of humor when it comes to the weather. 88 the other day and now it is 56? Seriously?
Every time, without fail, I can’t sleep the night before I’m supposed to leave Cali and fly back to NC. I toss and turn and inevitably end up staring at the ceiling for the better part of the evening.
I am beyond elated to see my husband and play with my puppy. I miss them tremendously and a hug from them will be everything. I can’t wait to see friends and resume Sunday night...
I may have to roll myself back to NC..
But I am perfectly ok with that because I got to eat at the following while in California:
In-N-Out
Ballpark Pizza (twice!!)
Rusty Pelican
Bistro K
Splashes (thanks dad!)
Santanas (a Cali burrito saved G’s and my life)
and Pinkberry!
Now if only there was a way for me to bring take out from each of them on the plane.
K, don't underestimate the power of last minute...

Things I highly recommend..

Filed Under: Things You Probably Didn't Know About...
I come from an avid family of tennis players. And by tennis players I mean, I got dragged along when I was young to my sisters tennis matches because I was not old enough to stay home alone. I know how to play tennis, I took lessons, I played in a few matches, but truth be told I quickly found it to be a futile fight to chase around a small yellow ball on a hot summers day. I was apparently bred...
I’m taking everything interesting with me.
– Don Draper.. Kind of have become obsessed with Mad Men
This past weekend was amazing for SO many reasons. Mo’s and my get away and one year anniversary was fantastic (pics to come soon). But I am pretty sure that some of the wonderful news we got this weekend only made our anniversary that much more special.
One of my very best friends got engaged this last weekend. Johnny has been a huge part of my life ever since my freshman year of college....
There are days when you are having a good day and then there are days that you will remember always.
So so special. Beyond happy right now.
Doing what we do best. Brunching on the anniversary.
Sometimes there is just not enough wine in your house. Oh what a day.
