Mortified.

I cannot lie or pretend, clearly I love some Bravo television (Mo is rolling his eyes and judging me as I even type this). However, follow me down my rabbit hole. (Sorry new followers).

Bravo and the Real Housewives. Oh wait, and actually E! (namely the Kardashians) absolutely embarrass, well namely themselves, whenever there is travel involved outside their bubble.

I get it. You are all wealthy (or in certain housewives cases pretend to be) so traveling outside of what you know without your regular services, people, etc., is daunting.

BUT IT SHOULDN’T BE.

You guys are not traveling to the most under served and scary parts of this world. With the exception of Montana, I have been to every single place these “destination” trips take them to and each time I am MORTIFIED. The complete insensitivity to another place outside your comfort zone, another culture, the fact that there isn’t “your level” of first class service. That you would on national television, so quickly dismiss a place that frankly, you barely traveled out of the four walls of your very westernized and turn down service hotel, is embarrassing and makes me cringe.

These countries which have so (SO) many more years of great history and tradition than ours. These countries that welcome visitors with open arms and smiles despite having so much less than we do. These places that genuinely leave you feeling breathless in their pure and unencumbered beauty. Every. Single. Time. I watch one of these episodes I first and foremost judge myself more harshly, but I also hate the image that it projects out to millions of people of what these places are like.

They are not a ten minute sound bite where Vicki screams at monkeys and completely violates a sacred temple. They are so much more and I hate that people across the world will only see this and not the absolute purity and bliss of many of these places.

When I am not on my phone and in a Bravo fueled rage, I will share pics from some of these places. I know that the experiences I had there changed my life in the most amazing ways. I’m hoping those images will erase the Bravo ones from my mind.

Headed to Beer, BBQ and Bourbon for the 5th year? I believe? However this year is different in that it isn’t 90 plus degrees. It’s actually in the 70’s, rained yesterday, and may rain today. Hence the Hunters and crazy hair. Best I could do.

Sorry for the unmade bed and general disaster that is our room. I blame Lou.

There is an ice cream truck currently rolling through the streets around my house playing Christmas carols.

On a scale of one to insanely creepy, where do we think this falls in the scale?
